Gosh, it's been ever so long since I wrote anything on the blog. So I'll try to update you briefly (yes, I know, college professors never say anything briefly).
The holidays were quiet and relaxing, a great preparation for the month to follow. Starting the middle of January, the remodeling of the guest bathroom got underway. Big task, but made easier by the fact that I have 2 bathrooms. Anyway, down came one wall, and out went the cabinetry and all the fixtures. In true Grosenick tradition (having learned from my big brother), I was able to sell everything except the toilet. By the end of January the rebuilding process was underway and today (February 4th the tile folks began their work. I'm eliminating the bathtub in favor of a full shower, replacing the toilet and the sink and installing all new cabinets. As Conrad would say, I'm hemorrhaging money. However, this is offset by the excitement of a new look to the old room.
Other than this project, life is pretty much as usual. Lots of Lions work, especially as a new Trustee with the Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation. Also I won 3rd prize for my Club's newsletter and website at our District Convention. Wish I had done better, but it has prompted me to explore ways to jazz up both. Lots of work also as secretary to the Church Foundation. We just finished our annual gifting process which entailed donating over $28,000 to various organizations and individuals. Thankfully the Foundation President is going on vacation for 6 weeks so I will have a welcomed respite from these duties.
The next big event on the horizon is the 4th birthday of Nicholas and Alexander on March 8. Can't believe they growing that old and that I'm doing the same. Oh well, our spirits are young.
Midst dust and noise, I wish you all a happy 2008.
