Church, Again!

Yep, we joined a church and now we are taking part in events like today's "Pie Auction," an event planned to raise money to repair the church roof. I made a Dutch Apple pie (think I last made one in the 80's!) that went for $15. We bought two, a pecan and a sugar-free apple pie, and spent $20. Then we all got to have pie ala mode with coffee. Still feeling the sugar overload!

What? Two Days Without Rain!

Well, there should be no doubt what dear old auntie has done with 2 rainless days. Yup! Out in the garden. Amongst gardeners this is called fall clean-up. I know, you are overwhelmed with the depth of that label. In any case, I am busy cutting back the wisteria, butterfly bush, hydrangea, etc. I'm never in a big hurry to complete this work as it signals a dead period in the garden.

Other than that I have been busy transcribing minutes from the last Central Lutheran Foundation meeting and getting prepared for my 3rd presentation to one of "my" Lions Clubs. This latter task is getting easier as I do each presentation which should come as no surprise. Much to my pleasure, I got good reviews from my first presentation--said I was well suited to my job and that my presentation was informative and well presented. I realize it's no Academy Award, but at least your dear old auntie hasn't lost her touch when it comes to talking to an audience.

My next big event is a trip to Oceanside on October 18th to see June who will be celebrating her 89th birthday this month. I'll fill you in on all the details when I get back.

Janiesch/Topper Week

Good News, Tim was off the crutches on Sunday and played tonight. The bad news, his team lost 3 other starters (they got in trouble outside of school) and his team lost 40 to 6. Tim had 1 sack and 3 fumble recoveries and is feeling no pain. We are very thankful for that. Tim will go to the homecoming dance tomorrow with his girlfriend Fatima. She attends a different high school. The photo is from her homecoming dance.

Tommy loves Chess club. He is a crafty player...he can outsmart his brother and his mother, though he has yet to beat Andrew. So far Tommy is enjoying 4 grade and really likes his teacher, Mr. Berg.

Andrew and I celebrated our 1st anniversary last weekend. We took the boys and drove up to Breckinridge to check out the fall colors. On Sunday, we woke up to snow!
